three pills a day.

Webcast 1

we have started a weekly webcast, the first of which appears above.

i realize i've neglected to post show information on here, but i'll do otherwise in the future. more recently i have been joined by taylor lisney and gary rosenberger; both on various instruments. things are coming along well, and new material is being developed. we are looking for a drummer right now, so get in contact with us if you are interested.

also, the full length green tea project will be released sometime in december. i've been creating songs under that name for three years now, and it's been difficult to decide which tracks to actually use. some older material has been rearranged and rerecorded.

as previously mentioned, i will update this much more frequently from now on.

what are you doing? we don't stop here.

It took much longer than I had expected, but "Rabbit, Oh Rabbit" will be available as a free download on October 1. It will be posted here and on the myspace page.

Also, I'm going to be playing as many shows as possible over the next few months to get this stuff heard. Any support is appreciated. Check back for dates.

110 Second Storage.

"There were unclothed white mannequins seated on the benches throughout the station. They had been arranged in a manner that made it appear as though they could have been real people waiting for a train. He could not look at them."

By the way, yet another show at The Downtown Reading Hofbrau this Friday. Freud Aquarius may make an appearance, so should you.

Do you want any tapes, sir?

July 26, 2008

check your smile.

Someday very soon something with actual substance will appear on this page.

But not today. Skip the rest.

I'm typing properly again. I have made that decision. It is mine alone.

-interruption-

What do you expect to accomplish through this? You missed the point.

(check hallway for unexpected guests)
(stop at mirror and fix hair)

Most have had something to say about it. They run their mouths on and on, blathering about things that everyone understands on a basic level in the most uncomfortable way. I wouldn't stop you.

3. Military. to break off action with (an enemy).
–verb (used without object)
4. to become disengaged; free oneself.

Excuse me, is it true what they say?

Positive reinforcement. Don't worry.

Check your smile.

drifting/capitol of the world (version 3.5)

the silence is unnerving.

and this will not work.

it was more or less the same.

heads caught in the escalator.

i want a pair of 3D glasses.

all the above.

listen, there may be men in space. that's fine with me. however, i have little interest in participating now.

why don't you just fax it to me?

make the rain clouds go away.

the fox and the hound.

it never ceases to fascinate me how often some people associate music with the purpose of expressing exclusively positive emotions. fascinate isn't the appropriate word, but I have not slept and my vocabulary is failing me. after my set last night, i was approached by a man who went on for some time about how my music was too upsetting. he felt as though it was more important I force myself to write "happy" songs rather than let it all happen naturally. he went as far to suggest I have someone dance on stage with me. a dancer might be a brilliant suggestion. i'm not a particularly negative person. i have always felt that music, regardless of the emotion conveyed, is an uplifting experience. that's the whole fucking point. it's not a product. it shouldn't be treated as such, and it's probably a bad idea for me to get into a situation with people who feel otherwise. end.

i could go on more, but that first paragraph is obnoxious and pretentious enough for one entry.

i might just delete this later. it's not very well thought out.

i'm recording an album about fairy tales and rabbits. it's still not finished. most of the lyrics explore the ten thousand reasons why disney movies would make me cry if i were to watch them. it's color is orange, and it's number is two.

maybe it will be online someday soon.

over and out.

a western home in the rubble.

you can remain uncomfortable, if that's what you want.

i am like a house cat.
sit and wait.
do not speak unless spoken to.

communication.
or lack thereof.

you're tying me up.

this is your inconvenience.

increased discomfort.

enter figures.
press return.

under floorboards.

any solution considered has been analyzed to the point where it no longer makes sense. it can no longer be recognized. perhaps i'm just tired. recognition is yours to play with, still you continue to whine and break your toys. the redeeming qualities are nonexistent, but the only options left are less than favorable.

this is my home
this my own
we don't like no strangers

raise the kids good
beat the kids good
and tie them up

spread it wide
my wife, my life
push the camera deeper

i can use
i abuse, my muse
i made them all

we have a caller on line four.

i have discovered a wireless connection. it comes and goes, but it's better than nothing.

still recording things for the album. i feel as though i am close to finishing, but i've come up against a wall with a few particular tracks. also, i've had a few shows here and there recently, but i'll be sure to post future dates online now that i have that as an option. there should be a new track or two on the myspace very soon as well.

we have a caller on line four.

do you feel that you've been lied to?

May 10, 2008

pretty smiles on weathered faces.

you do whatever you can when the mothman is on the trail.

i've made lots of progress on the album, but i am still a bit behind schedule. realistically, i probably won't be finished until june. i'm not quite sure how many other musicians will be participating in the recording at this point. that wasn't in the plan from the start, however, so i will not complain.

things in bethlehem are not as i expected. though i should have expected that. lame joke. at least things are different.

my influence in most things is not required, but i'm alright with it. i have my own things. things. things. perhaps communication is a difficult art. perhaps your head is way too far up your own ass. it doesn't much matter. because i'm a creep. and i'm a weirdo. sarcasm.

which reminds me, my life will be forever changed at the nissan pavilion center in bristow, virginia this sunday. the seats are a bit too far to the left to have a really clear view of jonny...but who fucking cares, it's radiohead.

April 10, 2008

purple skies in the orchard.

unfortunately, beautiful orange aqueduct is no longer together. from now on i'll be playing shows and recording on my own. i'm still working on the new album, and you can listen or download two of my new tracks over at the myspace. the rest of the recording should be finished within the next month, at which time i'll be putting the entire album online for free and giving away copies at shows. also, i'm moving to bethlehem. most of my performances will more than likely be in that area from now on, but i'll try to get booked in the reading area as frequently as i can. with that said, i'm playing at the pillar lounge in shillington this saturday at 9. this will be my first official show on my own, so it would be great to see some of you there.

green tea project and empty signals for empty heads are on hold for a while as i am pretty busy with the new material and other things. however, i finished a stop animation video for one of the new green tea songs a little while back, and i plan to have that online soon.

but i'm not entirely sure that i will have internet access once i move, so i haven't quite figured out how i'm going to get any of this stuff online.

February 13, 2008

we used to live on sunshine.

last week we put a new song online over at the beautiful orange aqueduct myspace. it's called "cover our eyes". check it out if you haven't already. also, we are in the process of setting up some shows. so far, we've been booked at brenda and jerry's on March 14th, and we hope to see some of you there.

i've been doing a lot of work on the new green tea stuff. right now i'm working on a video for a track called "we used to live on sunshine". everything is turning blue.

and now i will stay awake until i have purchased tickets to see radiohead.

February 4, 2008

colder light.

i decided to post one of the newer green tea tracks over on the myspace. it's not a major departure from some of the older stuff, but it's by no means an indicator of what the rest of the album sounds like.

check it out at myspace.com/greenteaproject, and let me know what you think.

untitled e flat minor song

we recorded the drum tracks for two new songs on saturday. despite the lack of microphones this time, they turned out surprisingly well. i hope to have these two completed within the next few weeks.

it was too cold to stay long.

is not.

things have returned to a state of productivity in beautiful orange aqueduct.
possibility of studio time in march, but i hope to have some demo versions of a few new songs online sometime next month. ep or full length, i have no idea. but regardless, i have a name for it.

rabbit, oh rabbit

thanks so much to everyone that has offered me feedback in regards to "we are without faces". i appreciate all of it. i've started to work on an actual green tea project album; other than a few tracks that didn't end up on the ep, there more than likely will not be any new empty signals material online for some time. i have no expectations as to how long the green tea stuff will take to finish.

time is winding down. and i will be reduced and simplified again and again until then. but it's not that far anymore.

pack my suit in a bag.

_________

in memory of fred - music by boards of canada

I found him in a candle today. Lifeless but completely intact. It was a good two weeks, and I think that's longer than most of them stay alive. I have a strong feeling that he enjoyed Boards of Canada more than other music because he would always come out when I was listening to The Campfire Headphase.

This is part of something else.
